This doesn’t include maintenance, which is sold separately at $49.75. How Much Does It Cost?įor individuals users, Camtasia costs a whopping $249. However, you can make use of their free trial. To answer simply, no Camtasia is not free. It’s about time we test out some of the best Camtasia alternatives to start the decade off right. We’ve been using the same old software like Camtasia from TechSmith, an e-learning app that lets you create training videos and presentations. So sorry to trouble you Fred and you are absolutely right. As we step into a new decade, it’s time we bring our apps with us. I'm afraid that lit my fuse :-) and the result was a need to grumble. ![]() So it was more of a shock after all that with the pressure of time, should not have followed that process, I know that, but it didn't say on the page that the trial would be watermarked so I thought it may be better, felt annoyed that the software said as I imported media for the first time "have fun creating your videos" and "your videos will be watermarked". I guess I was just venting Fred, I had a video to render had a license for 8 went to TechSmith to re-download it (bigger SSD drive installed) and saw the offer, downloaded 8 and thought let's give 9 a try, so went through that process with a client waiting for a video for their site. It spurred me on to buy another PC for the office with an 8 gig graphics card, and 32 gig of super-fast memory, plus a 10th gen i7 processor, now don't get me wrong, I love this machine, but have learned that even that crashes Camtasia 8 on larger projects :-) In fact on their advice when I bought 8 and it kept crashing on rendering larger files they were unable to resolve it. Thank you Fred - great advice, I have had a need to deal with Techsmith support on several occasions previously, glitches in the software over many years, I found them very helpful but rarely able to resolve issues. I know this does not help you but it might in the future. Have a great day/night and if you do contact TechSmith let us know what you find out and keep in mind what I suggested about Trial Software or uninstalling software before trying the Trials of the software first. Once again I am sorry to hear about the problem you ran into and the cost of your time. However, you might be better off discussing this with TechSmith Support which is free and see if there is something they can or cannot do to help you out with your issue. If there is an issue with what you ran into this is just a community forum that users come to and occasionally the TechSmith Employees will drop in and also post. I too use Davinci Resolve and many other editing software for movies and images. I have always know there is a Watermark on Trial Versions as they do provide that in their descriptions. Sorry you had that issue but, my recommendation before uninstalling any software is to try the Trial Version of the newer version first. I do not work for TechSmith as I am just a longtime user as I have used Camtasia since the first version. ![]()
